US-China Airport Workshop

On October 12th, 2016,with the coordination of ECP, USTDA and CAAC jointly held the US-China Smart Green Airport Workshop.31 directors and staffs from 18 airports including Beijing Daxing International Airport, Shenzhen Airport, Xinjiang Airport, Guiyang Airport, Qingdao Airport, Changchun Airport and Dalian Airport as well as over 40 representatives from 13 US leading enterprises in airport construction attended the workshop.

Xia Xinghua, Head of CAAC, and Carl Chris, Director of Asia Pacific, made the opening remarks. They looked back at the history of US-China cooperation in airport construction and looked forward to the great potential of future cooperation in developing smart and green airports. Experts from UTC, HP and Caterpillar made keynote speeches and technical case sharing on smart airports and smart logistics, important evaluating indicators of green airports, smart construction and financial leasing. Airport representatives shared the work and challenges of China’s airports in achieving the goal of smartness, green, safety and comfort. Experts from American enterprises, with their advanced technologies and rich experience, shared successful cases on building smarter and greener airports.

The workshop achieved success with heated discussions among attendants, who showed great interest in constructing smart and green airports. Representatives from ECP also expressed their hope and determination in promoting US-China cooperation to cope with climate change. ECP will continue to do its best to support projects of US-China cooperation in airport construction.
