Energy Transition Trip Was Held in Shenzhen

From January 10 to January 12, 2024, with the support from the American Division of the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce (TDB/MOFCOM) and the US-China Energy Cooperation Program(ECP) invited international energy and technologies companies and co organized a business outreach trip to Shenzhen, Guangdong, from January 10-12, 2024, to explore and discuss the energy transition innovation cooperation opportunities in Guangdong/ Shenzhen region. 
 
 
The international business study delegation led by Mr. Deng Bo, Deputy Director of TDB/MOFCOM, ECP invited ExxonMobil, Eaton, Altec, Bureau Veritas, Microsoft, Energy Transfer, California-China Smart City Institute and other international energy technology companies and organizations to discuss low-carbon advanced technologies, energy transition and innovation projects topics with local governmental, industrial, institutional stakeholders, eg.Shenzhen Bureau of Commerce, Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, Shenzhen Energy Group, China Resources Group, CGN, BYD, Tencent, Hynovation Technologies, Shenzhen Hydrogen and Fuel Association, Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center (Shenzhen), and other local enterprises and research institutions. The group also conducted on-site visits to HYNOVATION, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Eaton Electric Asia Pacific R&D Center, Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center, Shenzhen Yantian Green Port, and BYD. 
 
 
The goal of this outreach trip is focusing on the international including US-China bilateral business cooperation opportunities during the energy transition and innovation process at provincial/subnational level, reviewing the previous cooperation experiences/results, discover and find the new opportunities through further exchange and discussion.
