At the invitation of the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), from April 23 to April 28, the "China CE Exchange Program (Phase III) RTM – 2017 GDC Study Tour" delegation of 20 people went to the United States, holding dialogues with relevant US institutions on US data center construction, energy efficiency improvement policies, data center advanced technology, etc.

The delegation visited the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), Autodesk, Apple, Inc., Cummins and other institutions, and carried out on-site inspection of application projects of LBNL, Autodesk, etc.

The delegation learned about the relevant policies and current status of energy efficiency improvement and environmental sustainability in the US data centers, and had in-depth understandings of the FEMP Federal Data Center Energy Conservation Project, the Federal Government Data Center Integration Program, “Energy Star” Data Center Program, Data Center LEED certification, “energy saving from now on” project and other related measures, the advanced diesel generators, liquid cold plate and other technologies, development status and trends of data center renewable energy utilization technology.

The delegation introduced the development of Chinese data centers to the USTDA and the US data center representatives, especially about achievements in energy conservation and measures to be taken in the next step. The US side recognized the work done and the accomplishments made by China's data centers in energy efficiency improvement, and expressed willingness to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with China in terms of data center energy efficiency.
