On May 17, 2018, ECP and CCUD with the great support from USTDA and Tianjin Binhai New Area, CIE(Chinese Institute of Electronics), USGBC (US Green Building Council) organized the fourth city workshop in Tianjin, focusing on smart city solution promotion and cooperation. This Tianjin workshop is designed to promote green/smart building design, smart parking system, smart water system, smart grid monitoring, DECHP for data centers, LEED city, plus financing for cities. This workshop was also to play a constructive role to promote China-U.S. companies' commercial cooperation, technological exchanges and sharing of advanced successful experiences and cases in the field of the smart city.
Xu Lin, director of China Center for Urban Development, Steven Winkates, director of Program Management, East Asia Region of USTDA and Ji Zemin, Director General of Merchant Bureau, Tianjin Binhai New Area all gave speeches about the future of the smart city in Tianjin and around the world.
There were about 80 industry representatives from both US and Chinese sides attended the workshop. From technology, showcase, to finance, participants shared their insight on smart city solutions. Johnson Controls, USGBC, US-China Green Fund, Emerson, 3M, Institute for Sustainable Communities made presentations at the workshop. In the morning, participants also attended the China green data center meeting which was co-supported by ECP and met/interacted with over 200+ data center industry participants for commercial cooperation opportunities.
ECP has been promoted data center energy efficiency and smart city-related technology, solution, and service since 2014, we have been helping US and Chinese industry players established a stable partnership with strong support from US government and Chinese government agencies since then. Most importantly, US industries showed their leading role in the data center and smart solution areas to showcase their technology/production and service in China market.
