The 7th International CCUS Forum Held in Beijing

March 17-18, 2023, the 7th International Forum on Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) was successfully held in Beijing. As a CCUS intrustry annual event, the forum was received strong support from  the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE), the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASA), and the National Energy Administration (NEA). The forum attracted nearly 600 attendees, including senior government officials, business executives, expertsand scholars from more than 10 countries in the energy sector,  and science and technology sector. The forum was conducted in a hybrid format, offline in Beijing PetroChina Science and Technology Exchange Center, and livestream globally in Chinese and English. 

Invited by the meeting organizer, ECP supported this forum at very early planning stage and helped recommend, invite and coordinate international speakers and participants. ECP helped to invite the international energy companies such as ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Saudi Aramco, Equinor,Baker Hughes, AspenTech, Howden, and Bureau Veritas etc. Several of these companies shared their insights and experiences on the low carbon transition, and shared the latest cutting-edge CCUS technologies.

The theme of this two-day forum is "for a shared Low-carbon Future" and offers a diverse range of content including keynote presentations, invited reports, panel discussion, and sub-forums. Over 20 distinguished guests from academics, energy companies, international organizations, research institutions, and universities delivered presentations on various aspects of carbon capture, transportation, storage, and utilization technology innovation, as well as industrial development paths. The forum also served as a platform to exchange information on international experience and cooperation opportunities while discussing critical topics such as carbon markets and finance, policies and regulations, and business models, facilitating comprehensive and in-depth discussions.
