On December 14, 2018, with the support from National Energy Administration (NEA), U.S. Embassy in China, U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and other government agencies, U.S.- China Energy Cooperation Program (ECP) successfully held the U.S.-China Energy Cooperation Industry Roundtable and the "Energy and Charity" reception at Beijing Presidential Hotel. The closed-door roundtable welcomed representatives from 17 ECP member companies and reviewed energy cooperation with related NEA departments in oil and gas, new energy and renewable energy, electric power and nuclear energy, and looked at future outlooks.

The following reception kept last year’s theme of “Energy and Charity” and invited officials from the Department of Commerce of the U.S. Embassy and from the USTDA, as well as the Energy and Charity Ambassador Stephon Marbury to give speeches. Representatives from Xylem China, U.S.-China Green Fund, Emersion, and Right to Play gave wonderful presentations sharing vivid stories of their China charity programs. Their stories showed efforts in improving community healthcare facilities, promoting resource conservation and environmental protection, helping to solve water access problems in impoverished regions, and improving the wellbeing of children. The reception also received the active participation of over 100 guests from more than 40 Chinese organizations and enterprises including Ministry of Emergency Management, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China Overseas Development Association, China International Contractors Association, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery & Electronic Products, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, China Center for Urban Development (CCUD), Chinese Institute of Electronics, China Green Building Council, China National Institute of Standardization, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, and China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing. The reception also set a special session for charity auction, encouraging reception guests to raise charity funds to support public participation in charity activities. The guests actively participated in the auction and it successfully raised altogether RMB 6000, which will all be used to support the promotion of public welfare in China.

During the roundtable and reception sessions, ECP reviewed its work in 2018 together with member companies and U.S. and Chinese partners, which highlighted its missions and objectives while showing its vision for the future. In the coming 2019, ECP aspires to persistently facilitate the pragmatic cooperation between the U.S. and Chinese companies, and between governments and companies in energy and environment to promote sustainable development. ECP looks forward to working jointly with more partners in 2019 while serving as a bridge to improved commercial cooperation between the U.S. and Chinese companies, and to cleaner, healthier and more efficient societies.
